Owner Silvia Torres worked for L’Oreal in her native Ecuador, as a technician for Igola Royal, and as a stylist for Sweeney Todd’s at the Stamford Town Center before opening her first salon in Stamford in 1997 and a second salon in Norwalk in 2000. Both stores are beautiful and spacious. Why Not Silvia’s was one of the first Hispanic salons to open in Stamford. In 2002, Silvia was named the Hispanic Businesswoman of the Year by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. About 50% of her clientele is from the Hispanic community, and she was earned a strong following among non-Hispanic. Silvia’s work in the beauty industry is also well-known among participants at educational events at the Depasquale salons systems and Sebastian Wella International line, in NY, NJ, and CT.
Her employees offer complete beauty services including hair styling for men, women, hair coloring, highlighting, permanents, straightening, skin care, make-up, permanent make-up, waxing, and manicures, and pedicures.
